Wind Turbines

Domestic Wind Turbines

Eco Trading have teamed up with Samrey Wind Turbines to bring you a range of domestic wind turbines which are perfect for those looking to make further investment into the future of our planet. Not only will these machines save you money and energy, but they are robust and built to last, having been tested in the most extreme environments. Our turbines are designed for use in a wide variety of applications - you're bound to find a machine that suits your circumstances.

Samrey turbines are designed to operate at low-wind speeds, and are customised to operate both practically and affordably in the domestic environment.

We are currently selling the Samrey Wren and Wren Extreme range of domestic wind turbines, the details of which are found on the next few pages.

Please consult the following FAQs for more information.

What do wind turbines do exactly?

Wind turbines collect kinetic energy from the wind, and convert it to electricity, thus relieving us from our dependence on non-renewable energy sources such as coal.

Good for the environment then?

Of course. Wind Turbines do not pollute the atmosphere at all, and release the user from electricity provided by most power companies. They are a superb way to offset your carbon footprint.

How noisy is a typical domestic wind turbine?

Our small Wind turbines make a limited amount of noise, but no more than typical domestic appliances. The noise emitted can be likened to a gentle 'swishing' as the blades cut through the hair, but even this is generally inaudible in windy conditions - the ideal conditions for turbine use.

Aren't wind turbines dangerous to birds and bats?

It is estimated that there is one bird killed by a wind turbine for every 10,000,000 killed by cars. Although during particular seasons and migration periods the danger to wildlife increases, statistics suggest that this damage is negligible compared the damage done by environmentally detrimental processes.

How much power will a 'Wren Micro Turbine' generate?

On a good site, a single Wren wind turbine will generate 40Kwh per month given an average wind speed of 12mph. As an example, 40Kwh would power 10 compact fluorescent light bulbs for 12 hours per day, for a month.

With higher average wind speeds, Our range of turbines have the potential to capture exponentially more power.
